This mission hasn’t changed since day one. You donate and I’ll do something for you. Anything.
My focus is changing though, I want more people outside of my network to be a part of my mission. You don’t have to be my friend in order to make a difference in this project.
If you don’t know me and feel awkward about donating, please don’t let that keep you from giving. Donations have come in from both my closest friends and family to total strangers. Please give and help keep the momentum of my birthday mission alive.
If you feel like you don’t need anything, I will make you a simple thank you photo or card that can serve as a reminder of how much people can accomplish when coming together for one purpose.
If you can’t give a lot, remember that every little bit helps. Don’t be self conscious about only giving a few dollars.
This project started out with me just wanting to do something small to help out people in need and to change the tone of what I always thought was a selfish holiday. Not only has it accomplished that, but it has has given me renewed energy and purpose. I smile every time a donation comes in and my heart gets a bit lighter.
My original goal of $1,000 seemed lofty at the time, but I shouldn’t have underestimated the kindness and generosity of the people around me. Money is tight for everyone, yet many have donated to my mission and it has been very inspiring for me.
Although the number of people giving has slowed down a little bit, I have gotten a few large donations in the past 2 days and am very close to my latest goal of $5,000 raised. If there’s anything I can do to convince you to donate, let me know.
